Mutation Induction

It is possible to increase the natural mutation frequency in plant cells dramatically by using chemical mutagens or radiation. At Iribov we perform the treatments in tissue culture to provide a conditioned environment, which is more efficient than treatment in vivo.

Treatments & Deliverables

Radiation treatment will be done at an external service provider. Chemical treatment will be done in the lab at Iribov. Treatments can be done with different doses, and varying amounts of plants.

To single out all mutated cells, the plants need to be multiplied some cycles. The plants can be delivered as stage 3 (in vitro rooted) or stage 4 (hardened).
