Iribov is a service laboratory founded in 1992 by Evelien Huis in 't Veld and Eloy Boon. The main focus of the lab is on tissue culture services and analyses on plants with flow cytometry and molecular techniques. Iribov is an independent laboratory, which works only for third parties and does not have its own breeding activities.
In 2011 the tissue culture company SBW from Roelofarendveen was acquired in the Iribov group, including the production laboratories in Macedonia and Ghana. IribovSBW uses tissue culture to produce half material for breeders, develops protocols for multiplication and produces (certified) starting material for large-scale production. Large-scale production is performed in the production locations in Macedonia, Ghana and at some external contract partners.
In the analytical laboratory of Iribov flow cytometry and molecular methods are developed and executed for diverse applications. The company is also active in the supply of flow cytometers.
In 2013 Iribov Young Plants has started, which specializes in the hardening of young plants. Iribov has its own greenhouse facility for this purpose.
Nowadays the total Iribov group employs ca 350 people.
