IribovSBW is an independent service laboratory for plant breeding and propagation companies. The services consist of tissue culture, cell biology and molecular and flow cytometric analyzes to support breeding and plant production activities at clients. IribovSBW is part of the Iribov Holding, an international organization with laboratories in the Netherlands, North Macedonia and Ghana. As part of our growth strategy we have a vacancy for a researcher Plant Tissue Culture within the Tissue Culture R&D team. The team is engaged in research into the development of tissue culture protocols for new crops and new tissue culture and cell biological techniques.
Researcher Plant Tissue Culture (MSc/PhD)
40 hours per week
You will conduct research to develop new and optimize existing tissue culture protocols for a wide array of horticultural crops, apply breeding-support techniques and conduct research into new multiplication technologies. Focus will be on the development of innovative technologies to significantly improve speed of multiplication and quality of the produced plants. You are keen to implement novel scientific developments within the IribovSBW projects. You manage your projects efficiently, including project planning, monitoring and reporting. You discuss scientific progress of your project with clients.
In order to fulfill this challenging position, you have obtained a MSc or PhD in the field of plant sciences and you have some years of experience with plant tissue culture or cell biological techniques. You have knowledge of tissue culture techniques like somatic and microspore embryogenesis and are eager to broaden your expertise in this area. Preferable you have affinity with plant physiology and cell biology.
As researcher you have a result-oriented attitude and strong organizational skills and are well able to work independently as well as part of a team. To interact with partners and clients you have good communication skills, both written and oral.
