Our mission

Grow better plants. That’s what Iribov is all about. We support breeding and growing companies and help them to efficiently propagate even the most challenging species. We offer state-of-the-art tissue culture, bio-analytics and breeding support.

At Iribov, we believe that knowledge and innovation are the key to produce high-quality plants. Because the more we know together, the better we grow together. 

1992

Enkhuizen, where it all started

Iribov was founded in 1992 by Evelien Huis in 't Veld and Eloy Boon. The first project was to make virus free iris plantlets from tissue culture. 
2007

Heerhugowaard, a new location

Iribov moved to Heerhugowaard, adding greenhouses for hardening tissue culture plants and for plant breeding support projects.
2011

Going international

With acquiring SBW, Iribov has three new locations, a laboratory in Ghana, Macedonia, and Roelofarendsveen (NL). The latter one merged with Heerhugowaard in 2018. 
2021

Expanding globally

In 2021, a significant expansion of our laboratory in Macedonia was completed. This major development has increased our laboratory space to approximately 10.000 square meters, allowing us to enhance our production capacity.

2024

A new lab in Ghana

In 2024, we have started expanding our laboratory and greenhouses in Ghana, which will double our greenhouse capacity and increase our tissue culture facilities fourfold. This expansion will create over 200 new jobs in the region.
